Our STORY

Inspired by our co-founder, Faisal, who sustained an ACL tear with a dissatisfied recovery, Kinisi was formed with co-founders Rosie and Manu and a converging desire to shift the health paradigm. We are innovative surgeons and engineers with hardware, software, AI and regulatory expertise with numerous patents. Kinisi will advance the horizon of human potential one joint at a time, starting with ACL tear risk in the knee.

Meet The Team

Rosie Sendher (CEO), MD, MHSc, FRCSC, fAAOS

Dr. Rosie Sendher is a practicing Hand and Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon in the SF Bay area and World
Surf League Physician in California. A native of Vancouver, Canada, Dr. Sendher completed her
undergraduate and medical education at University of British Columbia with a Master of Health Care and
Epidemiology. Rosie completed her Orthopedic Surgery training at Queens University followed by
Stanford University Fellowship in Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery and Queens University Orthopedic
Trauma Surgery. She is published in national and international peer review journals and book chapters.
Rosie has a passion for surfing which led her to treat professional athletes in the US Open and World Surf
League. Rosie is also the creator and host of Medical Matrix, a podcast discussing the intersection of
medicine and technology. Her leisure time includes surfing, trail running and hiking and international
travel.

Faisal Mirza (COO), MD, FRCSC, fAAOS, fAOSSM

Dr. Faisal Mirza is a Knee & Shoulder Surgeon, Entrepreneur, Clinical Associate Professor at UCSF and
provides care for Veterans. He was raised in Canada where he completed his education at University of
Western Ontario and McMaster University. Subsequently, he joined Stanford University as Clinical
Assistant Professor of Orthopaedics at the VA Palo Alto, after which a Device Outcomes Grant led him to
the FDA as Principal Investigator and Medical Officer. From the FDA, Dr. Mirza was recruited into
biotechnology by Amgen as Global Bone Health Development Medical Director based on his passion for
bone and joint health. Dr. Mirza is published in peer-reviewed journals and has lectured internationally
on innovation and technology in shoulder, sports medicine, device outcomes, bone and joint health,
additive manufacturing, and regulatory pathways. He has a passion for art, having given art workshops to
disabled veterans and been exhibited nationally. Faisal spends his free time with his two amazing kids
telling Dad jokes while hiking, cycling, swimming and playing tennis and chess.

Manu Chatterjee (CTO), BSEE, MSEE

Manu Chatterjee is an experienced tech entrepreneur and tech executive. He previously founded and
served as CEO of 3 different companies. This included Lampdesk which was acquired by Palm and led to
the creation of webOS (now LG webOS), and TrensantAI which was acquired by Interos (now the leading
supply chain intelligence platform for the US government). Manu has also held senior roles at Motorola,
Palm, and HP, and has managed engineering teams both domestically and abroad. Manu has 49 granted
US patents and has developed several products from the idea phase to mass production. He also has
well-honed experience in machine learning software development and algorithms having developed
speech and handwriting systems from scratch and overseen deployment in numerous consumer
products.
